After just a few months it seems that Bing could be getting a major update to it’s services. Leaks found over on twitter indicate that an upgrade to maps is in the making where twitter users said… “imagine seeing maps plus pics from the neighborhood of a restaurant to try.” While another said “bing + silverlight in maps = amazing !! goodbye google.” Both of these tweets were actually deleted shortly after which makes you think MS didn’t want the preview to be made public just yet.
It is unclear when changes to Bing will occur with some saying it’s just around the corner and others saying it will be a gradual rollout.
Other tweets mention that the new search visualisation looks great. It isn’t clear if the way search results are displayed will be getting a change, ie, how pages rank, but it does seem more cosmetic at the moment that will add some great functions to the promising search engine.
