Microsoft have launched a new feature on Bing called Visual Search. The visual search feature requires that you install SilverLight when you first load it up and once installed gives you a visual representation of what you are searching for. It works best for product based searches whereby you can see a vast range of items such as digital cameras, laptops, netbooks and other products based on the regular search results that Bing provides.

By doing a search, digital cameras for example, you are presented with a grid of cameras to look at. The sidebar on the left has options to let you filter out products you don’t want which could include a certain level of optical zoom, a brand or type for example.

The search results pages show around 50 items which work on select queries at the moment for items which require a product comparison and from what I have seen, it works quite well. As of now it works for US searches only, so if you are searching in the UK then switch to the US and you should be able to receive results.
