GMail Labs Add Anti-Phishing Key to Gmail

by Matthew on July 14, 2009

authenticated-iconGMail Labs have been working on a new feature for GMail which helps protect users (that’s you and I) from phishing attacks.

The new protection currently just supports eBay and Paypal and if an email comes from them, but actually is not from them then GMail will automatically delete the email and it won’t even show up in your junk folder.

As of now, other financial institutions do not have this security but hopefully soon Google will add them all to the service so that phishing emails pretending to be your bank will never fool you again.

Details can be found over at the GMail blog.
