Google Search Updated for iPhone 3G

by Matthew on July 11, 2008

With the launch of the new iPhone earlier today, Google have launched a new search app which looks fantastic. The application runs native on the iPhone or iPod Touch and is named “Google Mobile App”. The app once loaded is simple to use and just shows a search bar. When you start to enter a search string, predictions of what you are looking at are displayed below as sites. Further below that you will then see extra things to search for. If you type in Baseball for example then you will see a number of words like gloves, bats, ball, clothing displayed across the bottom to help you speed up the search function.

Other cool features include the ability to link it to Google Maps by tracking where you are by cells or GPS which provides your location and localises search results around the area. Also you can make calls direct from the app when you have found the information you are looking for.

To get Google Mobile App, tap the App Store icon on your iPhone, or open iTunes, and search for ‘Google Mobile’. You need to have the latest iPhone software update to see the App Store. Google Mobile App is currently only available in the US App Store, but will be available in other countries very soon.
