Some great news comes from Mollom, the spam-filtering service that they have now blocked their 100,000,000th spam message over the 10,000 websites they provide spam protection for. Considering they haven’t been running the service for a year yet I consider that a phenomenal result.
Only 3 months ago they had blocked their 50 millionth spam message which shows just how quick their service is gaining pace.
Another interesting fact about these numbers is that this does not include it’s larger clients like Netlog which has about 4 million messages a day filtered by them.
All things combined, we’re processing up to 150 million messages a month! Since it can take multiple HTTP requests to process a single message, we’re handling well over 200 million HTTP requests per month.
