Upload your Blog for Kindle Readers

by Matthew on May 18, 2009

kindle-publishingAmazon recently launched the Kindle 2 and even more recently, the Kindle DX. These eBook readers allow users to download books from a library of 230,000 books. Not only can the Kindle download books, they also allow you to download popular publications such as the New York Times. A few days ago, Amazon opened kindle publishing for blogs which is a new service allowing you to send your blog posts to Amazon and charge a subscription for people to download it to their kindle each day. For each subscriber you get you are entitled to 30% commission of the sale.

For those with large blogs this could make a nice money earner for you as the commission is paid on the monthly subscription and not just for the first month sale price. However, you need to note that subscriptions could be just $2/month making you 60 cents per reader per month.

The program is open to any country but they do require you have a US bank account and tax ID to receive payment. For a number of people not based in the US this might prove tricky.

You can register for the service over here where the process takes about 30 minutes followed by a 24/48 hour setup and approval process by Amazon.
